From the recording Here Before
Frank: A pensive, slightly melancholic song that really takes its time revealing its message. With my guitar strapped on at 3:00 AM, standing in my kitchen before heading off to bed, it was one of the fastest songs I've ever written. Outside of a few lyrical tweaks, the whole song was done under 10 minutes. Love those.
Luisa: Loved it the moment Frank first played it for me. It is so tenderly nostalgic.
Lyrics
F. Veres
Here is a song I never played for you
Here are the words I never sang to you
Memories forgotten, were all that we knew
I’ve never forgotten, those stories of you
Thanks for the part you gave to me
I sing you my heart so shamelessly
Take it or leave it, like an old souvenir
But I’ve something inside, I’d like you to hear
La la la la….
If I had one wish then it would have to be
That you would just smile when you thought
Of the times you had with me
Wishful thinking on my part
But I’m just singing from my heart
La la la la…..
