From the recording Short Story Long
Luisa: I was excited to write a song in an open tuning and that excitement spilled over into the song's optimistic message. It took us a while to figure out what to do with this one on the album. I knew I wanted congas but that was it. It slowly revealed itself part by part in the studio and once again Frank got crazy with an electric guitar and made my day!
Frank: The CD's feel-good song. Helping us to build the groove on congas is Hubert Martin.
Lyrics
L. Tanno/F. Veres
I’ve asked questions without answers and learned something
I’ve been dizzy and euphoric then I’m wanting
Life’s elating, it’s exhausting, I know one thing
Kindness always makes it
You’ve just got to take it
Inside out and outside in
Find your stride, chase the wind
Breathe it in
Every person I encounter has a token
Like a password to a cavern not yet opened
They light my way, I light their way, so I’m hopin’
Make experience your friend, you’re in it when
Inside’s out and outside’s in
Find your stride, chase the wind
Breathe it in
Wrestle your demons on a cotton cloud
Laugh big, love hard, cry out
Spend only seconds on doubt
And say those soft things out loud
Inside’s out and outside’s in
Find your stride, chase the wind
Breathe it in
Inside’s out and outside’s in
Find your stride, catch the wind
Breathe it in
